Dr Brian McGregor

Dr Brian McGregor is YORLMC’s Medical Secretary and has been involved with YORLMC since 1995. In the late 1990s he was a Board Member of a large successful Multi-Fund Collaboration under GP Fundholding in York, and Cancer Lead for North Yorkshire at the introduction of the 2 week rule system. He subsequently led the development of the first GP commissioning group in York, York Health Group, and sat on its Board, covering all of York. Prior to moving into his current Medical Secretary role, Brian was Vice Chair of YORLMC North Yorkshire and York for 11 years. He was a GPwSI in addiction therapy for 23 years, working in specialist clinics and prisons, and was also a Hospital Practitioner in St James A/E Dept from 1992-1997. In addition to his YORLMC Medical Secretary role Brian works as a salaried GP for 2 days a week, as well as being a GP appraiser and Clinical Lead for York and Scarborough CCG OOH services.
In addition Brian is:
- the elected GPC member for North Yorkshire and Bradford
- Chair, BMA Yorkshire regional council (YRC).
- a Member of the Cameron Fund, which is the medical benevolent charity that provides support solely to GPs in the UK
- Director of the YORLMC Ltd Board
