YORLMC continues to remind GPs of their professional responsibilities to keep up to date in all important areas of general practice.
Practice Managers will be mindful of CQC requirements with regard to practice staff.
The BMA has produced guidance to help practices meet their training obligations. This guidance is available here and is intended to help practices take control and make informed decisions that are best for the practice and all members of the practice team.
Additionally the BMA has developed a number of ethics toolkits providing GPs with essential guidance on the legal and ethical issues which may be encountered in clinical practice. Included in this resource is an Adults Safeguarding Ethics toolkit and a Children and Young People toolkit
The GMC has also produced ethical guidance for doctors – available here. This guidance sets the principles of good practice and describes the professional values, knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of all doctors working in the UK. GPs are advised to use their judgement when applying the principles to various situations faced. Serious or persistent failure to follow the guidance will put a Drs registration at risk.
